Andy has been one of the two Directors of TDC since its inception in 2002. Despite the unchanged focus of the business over this time, he retains great enthusiasm to build on TDC’s reputation of making it easy for trustees and employers to manage their DB pension schemes. Of all the different aspects to his role, he most enjoys face to face meetings with his clients, because they are interesting people with interesting businesses. Andy has a degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Glasgow University and became a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries in 1999.
He previously worked in a variety of actuarial and business development roles at Scottish Amicable and Prudential. Andy has a practising Scheme Actuary certificate and provides advice to trustees and employers on a very wide range of issues for DB pension schemes.
Andy is married to Lorraine and has three children, Jack, Stuart and Lauren. He is not encouraging them to become actuaries. Every so often when he feels unfit, he enters for and jogs slowly round a half marathon course. One day, he will finish under 1 hour 50 minutes!
