Pensions Conference Autumn 2017

01/08/2017

Thomson Dickson Consulting’s Pensions Conference in Edinburgh is being held on Thursday 16 November 2016 at The Balmoral Hotel, from 8.30am to 11.30am.Our conference is most suitable for Trustees, Finance Directors, HR Managers and other pensions advisers and is free of charge. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in attending, please contact Ashley Morrison at ashley.morrison@tdcdb.co.ukThe significant deficits in DB pension schemes are well publicised at present, particularly in the low interest rate environment post EU referendum and Bank of England base rate cut. How do the trustees and sponsoring employers of small DB schemes manage these deficits and ensure that their scheme can pay the right benefits to the right members at the right time? Our conference will discuss the topical issues facing trustees and employers with these schemes and will consider distressed schemes, possible reduction of members’ benefits, flexibility within the legal framework and governance by 21st century trustees.Once again, we are pleased to be joined by leading pension professionals as guest speakers. The Edinburgh conference will include presentations from Louisa Knox of Shepherd and Wedderburn and Candia Kingston of Capital Cranfield. Louisa will present on current legal developments and Candia will present on best practice of scheme trustees. In addition, Andy Thomson of TDC will discuss possible funding solutions for small schemes with big deficits.
